FAQ
Questions before you send a case
- Is Heatshape software or an engineering service?
- Heatshape combines both. We set up and evaluate the initial simulation with you. You then receive access to the working model through the Heatshape platform.
- What information do you need from us?
- Typically geometry, material information, process parameters, boundary conditions and any available measurements.
- What do we receive at the end of a project?
- You receive the evaluated simulation results and a working Heatshape model that can be reused for further designs and process variations.
- Do we need internal simulation expertise?
- No. Heatshape handles the initial setup and guides your team in using the resulting model.
- How is the model validated?
- We compare simulation results with available measurements and help define an appropriate validation approach when experimental data is not yet available.
- Which manufacturing processes can Heatshape simulate?
- Welding, directed energy deposition, and laser hardening.
- How long does an initial project take?
- The timeframe depends on geometry, process complexity and available data. After an initial discussion, Heatshape proposes a defined scope, timeline and price.
